Rumour Cubes – The Narrow State
those lovely Rumour Cubes have set a date for their debut album. it’s to be called The Narrow State and is set to be released in February 2012. in the meantime we have a track, The Gove Curve, to enjoy. unlike their usual guitar and violin/viola driven instrumental sound, this track has vocals. these are provided by poet Steve Willey and really do justice to the OK Computer era Radiohead drama that comes from the tracks preceding four minutes. this is a track that leaves me longing for more and wishing time away. the vocal climax adds an element that left their earlier sound floundering just a little. collaboration could be just the answer they need as they have much to offer and seem to be in a state of growth and adventure. roll on February . . .
