as one or two of you may have heard, David Lynch has recorded, and this week released, his first solo album, Crazy Clown Time, with his musical collaborator and engineer ‘Big’ Dean Hurley. the most recent issue of the UK’s excellent free music paper, The Stool Pigeon, has Lynch as the cover star and an interview within, plus Lynch and Hurley have made an exclusive mixtape to compliment that story. below is that mix. according to The Stool Pigeon:

“The mix is a collection of songs that the two have been enjoying recently, beginning with new Texan blues star Gary Clark Jr’s ‘Bright Lights’ and Sonny Boy Williamson II’s ‘Bring It On Home’, which you’ll remember from the Mulholland Drive soundtrack. From there it’s onto a Kills take on a Jonathan Fire*Eater song, ‘The Search for Cherry Red’, some classic rock’n’roll, including the monster Monterey Pop performance of ‘Ball & Chain’ by Big Brother & The Holding Company and even a surprising spot of UK blubstep. They finish with a gem: This Mortal Coil’s ‘Song To The Siren’. Get stuck in.“.
