Wagon Christ

Wagon Christ (real name Luke Vibert) has been producing records under various guises since 1993. he has used his real name as well as Plug, Kerrier District, ルーク・ヴァイバート and others, plus there have been collaborative efforts with various artists including an unusual album with pedal steel guitar legend B.J. Cole

from early efforts in bands playing punk, he moved through to electronic sounds that included drum and bass and hip hop as well as the more acid/dance sounds that he is perhaps best known for under the Wagon Christ moniker. i love this music for the lightness and humour that is contained in many of the tracks. a humour that doesn’t reduce the music to mere novelty and sits perfectly among darker sounds and lyrical samplings that have always flowed through his work. they compliment each other perfectly

below are two Wagon Christ tracks with their excellent, accompanying videos. firstly Shadows from 2004’s Sorry I Make You Lush, and then Receiver from 2001’s Musipal
